Be creative when handing out “treats” at Halloween. This will allow you less temptation with bags of candy and chocolate lying around and also provide healthy options to kids. There are other treats that are lower in fat and sugar but may provide vitamins, minerals and fiber. You don’t even have to handout food “treats”. Kids will also be excited for non-food “treats”. Another thing you can do is have your kids turn in their candy, not all of it, but some of it for a prize or something they have been wanting for a while.
