Support groups and patient classes are a valuable resource for our surgical weight loss patients. Through them we offer education, encouragement, and support to help patients reach and maintain weight loss goals.

You don’t have to do this alone! Take advantage of these free patient support groups and programs to help you on your weight loss journey.

Pre-Op Classes

This class should be taken prior to surgery to help prepare you for the lifestyle changes you will need to make.  You will walk away with a detailed nutrition manual outlining the required behavior modifications, supplements, diet progression, and post-op exercise recommendations.  During the session, a bariatric dietitian and nurse will  address your questions and concerns so you can go into your procedure feeling confident and  prepared for success.

Pre-operative nutrition classes are held at 9 am on Monday mornings, 12:30 pm on Wednesdays and the first Tuesday of the month at 4pm in the MyNewSelf Education Room Suite 102 and last about 1 ½ hours. Please call our dietitians to sign up for a class at 314-966-9640.

Alumni Classes and Support Groups

We hold post-op nutrition and healthy living classes as well as facilitated peer support groups twice a month for all patient alumni.

NOTE:  Classes on the first Tuesday will be run by a dietitian and classes on the third Tuesday will be run by a counselor.

All meetings are held in the MyNewSelf Education Room, Suite 104, unless otherwise noted.
